WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — The Williams Lake Indian Band broke ground on its new $8 million Government Building Monday (Apr. 6).

Over the next 14 months, the 18,000-square-foot building will rise in the Coyote Rock subdivision of the band’s IR #1, next to the Coyote Rock Golf Course.

According to a news release from Chief Willie Sellars, the building has been in the planning stages for three years, and will complement the band’s facility in downtown Williams Lake.

Sellars says all the work on the building will be performed by local contractors, with Lauren Brothers as the general contractor.
