Interior Health warns public of virus at Anavets 290 Club

KAMLOOPS – Anyone who visited Anavets 290 Army & Navy Club between March 13 and March 17, may have come into contact with the COVID-19 virus. Interior Health issued a public statement advising people of the situation late Saturday (April 4th) afternoon.

Interior Health says it has confirmed one person who attended the club has tested positive for the virus. However, it has not released the condition of the individual.

The statement suggests anyone who visited the club over the five dates in March and has developed respiratory symptoms, should self isolate for a minimum of 10 days from the time their symptoms first appeared.

Symptoms of COVID-19 including a fever, cough, and shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. Milder symptoms also include a runny nose, body aches, diarrhea, sore throat, vomiting, headaches, fatigue, and red eyes.

Interior Health suggests those who develop symptoms, especially older residents with underlying health issues, should call 811 or their doctor.

Anavets 290 is located at 9-177 Tranquille Road in Kamloops. It closed its doors March 18th in line with government orders to close all bars and pubs.

Officials of the Anavets 290 have been made aware of the situation and have been trying to reach out to club members and visitors, who visited over the affected dates.
