Joe Hicketts on the shut down of the season, and the future

KAMLOOPS — When the pro hockey season at all levels shut down three weeks ago because of COVID-19, it left players in limbo, and scrambling to get home.

One of those being Joe Hicketts from Kamloops, who plays for the Detroit Red Wings American League farm team the Grand Rapids Griffins.

When Hicketts and the Griffins defeated the Iowa Wild 4-1 on March 11, they had no idea at the time that it was probably going to be their last game of the season.
