Kamloops Fire Rescue respond to fatal vehicle incident in Valleyview

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue crews responded to a vehicle incident in Valleyview last night (Mar. 28), which reportedly claimed the life of one man.

Platoon Captain Ken Hart says around dinnertime Saturday evening, a man driving in the area had suffered a medical-related incident, and crashed his vehicle into another vehicle near the Shell gas station.

“Crews were there for some time, and there was no fire but there was damage to the building,” he explains, “So crews stood by and looked after the medical condition with BC EHS and police, and then cleared the scene.”

Hart says to his knowledge, the man involved did not survive.

“I believe through his suffering of injuries, not the injury itself from the crash, but from the medical condition, he did pass away.”
