MERRITT — With an unseasonably cool spring storm coming through the area, Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for sections of the Coquihalla Highway, and the Okanagan Connector.

Snowfall between 30-40 cm could come to the Coquihalla section from Hope to Merritt, with the high elevations starting to see accumulations today (Mar. 28). Following this evening’s snow, Sunday will have brief, intense bursts of snowfall on that section of highway.

Meanwhile, on the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna, “intense bursts of flurries will add further accumulations” during Sunday, along with periods of reduced visibility.

Environment Canada reminds drivers to be aware of sudden changes in road conditions and visibility, and to check Drive BC for updates.
