Blazers take forward and goaltender with bloodlines in U.S. Prospects draft

KAMLOOP — The Blazers took a forward and a goaltender in todays Western Hockey League U.S. Prospects Draft.

With 14th overall they drafted left winger Drew Stewart from Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Drafting 31st overall the Blazers went for hockey bloodlines —– taking goaltender Calvin Vachon from the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.

He is the grandson of former NHL goaltender Rogie Vachon, and the son of Nick Vachon, who played two seasons with the Portland Winterhawks in the early 90’s.
