City of Kamloops, Tk’emlups say they’re working together to curb COVID-19

KAMLOOPS — Mayor of Kamloops Ken Christian and Tk’emlups te Secwepemc Kúkpi7 (Chief) Rosanne Casimir have taken to social media to address residents on both sides of the river.

In a YouTube video posted to the City of Kamloops YouTube channel, Casimir and Christian discussed the local states of emergency in Kamloops and Tk’emlups.

They reminded businesses to abide by the guidelines set out by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix.

That includes restaurants moving to a take-out and delivery only model, and respecting the rules of social distancing.

“We want everyone to know that we’re working together,” Casimir said. “We need all of our collective public sectors to be serious about the importance of social distancing.”
