Interior Health restricting visitors to its facilities during COVID-19 outbreak
KAMLOOPS — Interior Health is putting limits on who can and cannot visit its facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The local health authority says only essential visitors can enter facilities, including people providing compassionate care (end of life or critical illnesses) or visits that are deemed critical to someone’s care and overall well-being.
“The restriction of visits will help keep our patients, individuals in care, families and health-care workers safe,” the release reads. “It also aligns with the Provincial Health Officer’s recommendations for social distancing. Interior Health is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the BC Centre for Disease Control in this effort to flatten the curve of the pandemic.”
Interior Health says the essential visitors should be the same people, wherever possible, to limit exposure in the buildings.
