BC Wildfire Service responding to 150-hectare fire near Lytton

LYTTON, B.C. — The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a wildfire north of Lytton.

In a Facebook post, the service says the fire is roughly four kilometres north of Lytton between Highway 12 and Highway 1.

The fire is considered out of control and is estimated to be 150 hectares.

“Overnight precipitation in the area will help the 11 BC Wildfire Service personnel who are continuing response efforts on site today,” the service says. “Trails and roads are acting as natural containment lines and crews are working to establish more on site today.”
