Classes cancelled indefinitely for B.C. K-12 students due to COVID-19

VICTORIA — Premier John Horgan says public schools in B.C. will be suspended after spring break ends.

Horgan made the announcement in Victoria.

He also says the province will be changing the Employment Standards Act to provide assistance to workers hit by layoffs caused by the fight against COVID-19.

Horgan calls this a “crisis situation” and says B.C. will do everything in its power to maintain jobs and salaries and find a way forward for workers, businesses and the province.
