B.C. teachers will return to work after spring break to determine next steps

VICTORIA — After spring break ends, teachers across the province will be returning to work.

According to a BC Teachers’ Federation memo obtained by CFJC Today, teachers will return to work after spring break, although it’s not known exactly what that looks like at this point.

While most districts in the province are in the first week of a two-week break, a few districts — including Kamloops-Thompson — have only one week off.

BCTF says there is time to sort out what that will look like by working with Ministry and School District representatives.

The federation adds that it has confirmed contract teachers will not lose out on pay, and further information is expected to come from the federal and provincial governments in due time.
