Kamloops Blazers clinch as 2020 B.C Division champions

KENNEWICK, WA— With last night’s victory, the Kamloops Blazers have clinched first place in the B.C Division for the first time since 2012.

The Blazers skated to an 8-1 win Saturday evening (Mar. 7) over the Tri-City Americans in Washington.

Kamloops now has a 40-17-3-1 record through 61 games, which gives them 84 points. It is also the Blazers’ first 40-win season since they won 42 games in the 2016-17 season.

Reese Belton and Tyler Carpendale led the Blazers with two goals each, while Zane Franklin, Kyrell Sopotyk, Montana Onyebuchi, and Orrin Centazzo all brought in one goal apiece. (Centazzo’s also marked his 44th goal of the season.)
