KAMLOOPS — The 23rd annual Boogie the Bridge is only 50 days away, and the 2020 Spring Training Clinic starts this weekend.

Every year people of varying running abilities sign up to Boogie, which will be back on the North Shore this year.

For people looking to improve their strides before race day, Boogie training will take place Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings.

“You can go one time a week, you can go just on Sundays or Tuesdays,” said Boogie the Bridge founder Jo Berry. “And then most people, once they start one want to do both. So, it’s really built for busy people that have full careers, families, and want to find a way to move and exercise that’s not super time consuming.”

Berry says in addition to running, the program focuses on mental wellness.

She encourages people to check out the first training session Sunday morning at 8:00 at the Sandman Signature Hotel, even if they aren’t sure about committing to the full program.

“People can expect the first day to just come in and be in a really welcoming environment, a lot of kind, awesome, wonderful people,” Berry said. “We do a little bit of a Boogie kick-off, you get outside for a bit and then you wonder why you didn’t start years ago.”
