Police, coroners service investigating fatal fire in Salmon Arm
SALMON ARM, B.C. — A man has been found dead after a makeshift structure was engulfed in flames early this morning.
Southeast District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says police and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating the man’s sudden death.
Shortly after 5:15 a.m. today (March 5), emergency crews responded to reports of a structure on fire in the 1700-block of 10th Avenue Southwest in Salmon Arm.
The makeshift structure was engulfed in flames, and O’Donaghey said witnesses reported explosions during the blaze, likely due to propane tanks and fuel containers being on scene.
