WolfPack volleyball players take two more Canada West awards

KAMLOOPS — WolfPack athletes continue to reel in Canada West post season awards.

A week after being named a first team all-star, fifth year volleyball player Kendra Finch has been named the winner of the Canada West Community Service Award.

Finch, who is also a multi year Academic All Canadian, is a leader of leader of her team on the court.

For the last two years she has been a volunteer with the ESTR program at TRU — a program designed to help students with physical and mental challenges.

Finch has also voluteered at the TRU Wellness Centre and is volunteer coach in the Kamloops Volleyball Association.

Men’s volleyball player Nimo Benne is the Canada West rookie of the year.

The first year outside hitter from the Netherlands Benne was the WolfPack’s main offensive threat for most of the season, among top ten in Canada West in several categories.

He follows in the footsteps of past WolfPack players Gord Perrin, Robin Schoebel and Kevin Tillie to be named Canada West rookie of the year.
