KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue crews made short work of two separate incidents last night in the Westsyde area.

Platoon Captain Wade Lindoff says last night KFR was called to Oak Hills Boulevard for a house fire.

“First arriving truck on scene reported a residence with some smoke showing. Upon entering the structure, they found some bedding that was smouldering and had filled the residence full of smoke.”

Lindoff says crews extinguished the source and ventilated the home. He adds that the man inside was taken to Royal Inland Hospital to be checked out as a precaution for smoke inhalation.

Later on around 1:30 a.m, firefighters were called to a separate incident along Westsyde Road.

“It was a vehicle into a tree near Hermes Pizza,” explains Lindoff, “Upon arrival, the crew reported a car on fire, and crews put the fire out. There was no significant injuries to the occupant of the vehicle.”
