Returning NSBIA president Bryce Herman sets sights on revitalizing the Shore

KAMLOOPS — In the midst of a development surge on the Kamloops North Shore, Bryce Herman is back at the helm of the North Shore Business Improvement Association (NSBIA).

Herman returns to the presidency role with several items on his radar – namely, revitalization progress on the Shore.

According to Herman, new housing projects that are blending business, and liveable space could be complimented by improvements along Tranquille Road to the Airport.

Should the Trans Mountain Pipeline twinning continue construction, he says about $22 million dollars will be brought in for that corridor’s development.

“The infrastructure is going to be replaced over the next couple of years, the city needs to do that. It’s old in the ground so while you’re doing that, it makes sense that while you’re bringing it back to a revitalized state again, that you might as well beautify, and that’s what that $22 million will go into. So the corridor will be developed.”

With the NSBIA, Herman will also be representing the YMCA/YWCA interests in a larger way to combat recently financial challenges faced by the organization.

“They need to raise some additional funds. So my role with them is to look at gaming revenues and to see what else we can do in the arena of raising additional funds,” he explains, “So that’s how my role has expanded. Out of that, we’re going to be more engaged in the community because that’s how you get out and make sure those things are happening.”

Herman adds that he’ll be bringing NSBIA concerns and YMCA/YWCA matters to the upcoming Chamber of Commerce AGM.
