Kamloops RCMP nab four suspected drunk drivers on Family Day
KAMLOOPS — Police in Kamloops are urging drivers to stay sober if they’re getting behind the wheel, after an unusual Monday night in the city.
Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says frontline officers handed out a number of immediate roadside prohibitions on Feb. 17.
“It was an unusual night for our frontline officers as they, within a five-hour period, were able to issue four immediate roadside prohibitions,” Shelkie says. “It’s unusual that just the frontline officers themselves find these people on their way to other files and other calls but (also) that it was a Monday night and that there was just so many in such a short time frame.”
Shelkie is urging people to abstain from alcohol if they’re planning on driving.
