One man arrested by Kamloops RCMP following gas station robbery

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have arrested a man after he robbed a gas station with a weapon last night.

In a release, Staff Sgt. Sascha Fesenko says around 8:40 pm yesterday (Feb. 15), police were called to the Husky Gas Station along Columbia Street West, where a man had robbed the store.

Fesenko says the man brought out a knife, stealing cigarettes and cash.

RCMP arrived on scene and searched the area, before finding a man matching the suspect description near Grandview Terrace.

When police stopped him, the man tried to flee, but was arrested. His backpack had a quantity of cash, and cigarettes inside, and he was arrested for robbery.
