KAMLOOPS — After losing their one game play-ins last night on the road, the season is over for both TRU WolfPack women’s and men’s basketball teams.

WolfPack women lost 76-54 to the host University of Fraser Valley Cascades to finish off the 2019/2020 season. The Cascades went into the game ranked fifth while the WolfPack were 12th.

The game also marked the end of fifth-year players Emma Piggin, and Leilani Carney’s time with Thompson Rivers. The senior players led TRU with 17 points each to tie for team-high honours, while Jordon Haggerty followed with 15 points, and five assists.

Meanwhile, the men found a similar result with their own Canada West play-in game from Saskatchewan, as TRU fell to the host Huskies, 71-58.

Fifth-year guard Micheal Rouault scored 23 points and adding seven rebounds and four assists for TRU, while fellow fifth-year Anton Bilous finished his collegiate play career with 10 points in the contest.

The loss marked the final WolfPack game for graduating players Rouault, Bilous, Joe Davis and Kyrin Cybenko.
