Kamloops celebrates diversity through languages ahead of International Mother Language Day
KAMLOOPS — Language is an essential part of a person’s culture.
“Without language and due recognition of the language, culture is lost,” said Hafiz Rahman, president of the Kamloops Bangladesh Cultural Association. “And, in many places in the world, loss of language has led to loss of cultures and we feel that that’s very important.”
International Mother Language Day is on Feb. 21.
