Sun Peaks Resort keeping Ryan Shtuka disappearance top of mind with ‘A Run for Ryan’

SUN PEAKS — Now approaching two years since the disappearance of Ryan Shtuka from Sun Peaks, the mountain community will be coming together today to support the Shtuka family.

20-year-old Ryan Shtuka was last seen leaving a party in Sun Peaks on Feb. 17, 2018. Since he went missing, numerous searches have been conducted in the resort area, along with an RCMP investigation.

The resort is hosting “A Run for Ryan” this afternoon, giving a chance for people to show the Shtukas that Ryan has not been forgotten, and the search efforts for him will continue.

Any community members, guests, and visitors are welcome to meet at the top of the Sunburst Express chairlift at 3:00pm today to take part in a group ski down the 5 Mile run.

Afterwards, participants are invited to take the platter or carpet lift up to the Tube Park, where Ryan had worked during his time at Sun Peaks.
