KAMLOOPS — One of two ride hailing companies recently approved to operate in B.C. has plans to operate in Kamloops by the end of the year.

KABU Ride Inc. has been approved by the Passenger Transportation Board to bring its service to a number of cities across the province.

The company has plans to begin operating in the Lower Mainland, Victoria and Nanaimo immediately.

It plans to expand to Kamloops and Kelowna with a fleet of 40 vehicles by the end of 2020.

KABU has been operating in the Greater Vancouver area without approval since 2016.

The Passenger Transportation Board has also approved Parhar, Garrindar Singh (dba Apt Rides) to operate in the Lower Mainland and Whistler.
