RCMP release photos of Shuswap armed robber in action

SALMON ARM, B.C. — RCMP in Salmon Arm are trying to identify the man who robbed a local bank last fall, and have released surveillance images in an effort to drum up more tips.

On October 21, 2019, at about 4:10 p.m., the man walked into a bank on Ross Street wearing a balaclava and carrying a handgun.

Police allege the suspect pointed the gun at a clerk and demanded money. He left the bank with “an undisclosed amount of cash”.

Suspect description:

  • White
  • 6′ to 6’1″
  • Skinny build
  • About 30-to-35 years old
  • Wearing black Puma track pants with two grey/white stripes down the legs, black winter jacket, black skate-style shoes, black balaclava, sunglasses
  • Carrying a grey/silver handgun

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey, media relations officer for Southeast District RCMP, says investigators are committed to solving the crime and hope to further their investigation with the release of the photos.
