KAMLOOPS — Crown counsel has wrapped up its case in the first-degree murder trial of David Miller, the Fraser Valley man who’s charged in connection to the death of 52-year-old Debra Novacluse at the Super 8 Motel in Aberdeen three years ago.

Crown played a series of surveillance videos at B.C. Supreme Court in Kamloops on Thursday (Feb. 6), showing a timeline of events from the morning of August 27, 2016 when Novacluse was found dead in room 112 of the motel.

One of the videos, taken from a hallway, showed Miller’s two acquaintances coming to the motel room and eventually putting some belongings into a backpack. The videos show Miller coming and going from the motel multiple times, including trips to load his belonging in his truck. One video clip shows Miller retrieving a sleeping bag from his truck. When Novacluse was found dead underneath the mattress in the room, she was wrapped in a sleeping bag. Miller is then shown driving away. He was arrested days later in Ontario.
