One dead after Tuesday evening crash in Salmon Arm
SALMON ARM, B.C. — One person died in a three-vehicle crash on the Trans Canada Highway in Salmon Arm Tuesday night (Feb. 4).
Police say an eastbound Ford F-350 pickup truck crossed the centre line and collided with the trailer of an oncoming transport truck and was then hit by a second westbound transport truck near 20th Avenue NE around 7:50 p.m.
“The driver of the pickup truck, a man in his 70’s from the local area, had to be extricated from the pickup and was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries,” said Cpl. Mike Halskov, media relations officer for E Division Traffic Services. “The passenger in the pickup truck, also a man in his 70’s, was treated at hospital and it is believed that he will make a full recovery.”
The semi drivers were not injured.
