Anahim Lake man charged with attempted murder after weekend incident
ANAHIM LAKE, B.C. — An attempted murder charge has been laid against an Anahim Lake man after a weekend incident in that Chilcotin community.
According to an RCMP news release, officers were called Saturday (Feb. 1) at around 5:00 a.m. to a break-and-enter in progress at a home on West Street.
When investigators arrived, residents told them the assailant had “damaged their vehicle, forced his way into the home and destroyed property within the house.” Later, the residents told police the man had fired a gun.
The residents provided police with an identity, and RCMP arrested 30-year-old Maverick Anthony West in another home in the community.
