Second WolfPack swimmer qualifies for Olympic trials.

KAMLOOP — The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack will have two swimmers competing at the Olympic Trials later this Spring in Toronto, Ontario.

Matthew Gauthier (3rd year, Sylvan Lake, AB) reached a qualifying time in the 50 breast stroke at the PSW Winter Invitational meet this weekend in White Rock, BC. Gauthier swam the distance in a split time of 31.1.

He will join teammate Ryley McRae (2nd year, Kamloops, BC) in his quest to make the Olympic team at the trials March 30-April 5th. McRae will be swimming in four events at those trials: 1500 , 800 and 400 meter free style and 200 meter butterfly.

Both Gauthier and McRae won medals at the PSW meet.
