Man taken to hospital after stabbing in Shuswap

SALMON ARM, B.C. — Police in Salmon Arm are investigating after a stabbing in Eagle Bay on Wednesday (Jan. 29).

Salmon Arm RCMP Staff Sgt. Scott West says officers responded to a 35-year-old man who had been stabbed in the leg at roughly 1:30 p.m. yesterday.

He was found in a vehicle in Eagle Bay.

According to a news release, police determined the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his leg and was cared for at Shuswap Lake General Hospital.

“The investigation thus far has lead investigators to believe this is a targeted attack and there is no danger to the public,” West says in the release. “The Salmon Arm RCMP continues to investigate the incident.”

No word on if a suspect has been identified.
