UPDATE: Coquihalla back open northbound after vehicle fire

MERRITT, B.C. — UPDATE: Traffic is now getting through on the route.

EARLIER: The Coquihalla is closed northbound in Merritt due to a vehicle fire.

Drive BC reports that the road is closed between Highway 5A, Highway 97C and Exit 290.

An assessment is in progress and traffic is able to detour via Highway 5A.
