KAMLOOPS — After having a nine-game winning streak snapped last weekend in Prince George, the Blazers were looking to start a new one against Spokane Wednesday night.

Midway through the first period and on a power play, Connor Zary put a tape to tape pass to Max Martin for a 1-0 lead.

Less than two minutes later Spokane tied it with Filip Kral scoring with a two-man advantage — it was 1-1 after the first.

The Blazers scored the only goal in the second on Brodi Stuart’s 6th from Josh Pillar and Logan Stankoven.

Josh Pillar gave Kamloops a two-goal lead early in the third period on a set up from Quinn Schmiemann and Ryan Hughes.

The Chiefs keep pushing and were back to within a goal when Luke Toporowski beat Dylan Garand from the deep slot.

Spokane would pull Lukas Parik for a sixth attacker late in the third and Zane Franklin put it way with an empty-net goal and his 26th of the season.

4-2 is the final and with their 32nd win of the season the Blazers open up a 13 point lead over Victoria atop the B.C. Division, and move one point ahead of Everett for second in the Western Conference.
