TRU, faculty members reach tentative agreement

KAMLOOPS — A tentative deal has been reached between the Thompson Rivers University Faculty Association (TRUFA) and TRU.
According to a news release, the agreement was reached under the B.C. government’s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate, which focuses on improving services for people and ensuring fair and affordable compensation.
The deal would cover roughly 900 faculty members — represented by the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators Local 2 — who work at the campuses in Kamloops and Williams Lake as faculty instructors, counsellors, librarians and instructional support.
Once the ratification processes have been completed, more details about the agreement will become available.
