Blazers’ Zary and Garand shine at CHL/NHL Top Prospects game

KAMLOOPS — Connor Zary and Dylan Garand from the Kamloops Blazers showed well in the face of dozens of NHL scouts at the top prospects game in Hamilton last night.

Zary had three assists, including on the game winner, in Team White’s 5-3 win over Team Red.

He had instant chemisty with linemate Tyson Foerster from the Barry Colts, setting up Foerster for two goals.

Zary and Foerster also drew assists on the game winning goal.

Dylan Garand went into the game midway through the second period and stopped ten of eleven shots.

The only goal given up by Garand was with one second left in the third period.

Both Blazers players were ranked in the mid-term rankings by NHL Central Scouting.

Zary is 12th among North American skaters, while Garand is 7th among goaltenders.
