Corneil out as Interior Health top doctor

KAMLOOPS — Interior Health says its top doctor has left.

According to an emailed statement from an IH spokesperson, Dr. Trevor Corneil, who was the chief medical health officer (CMHO) is no longer with the health authority.

The email did not discuss Corneil’s reasons for leaving or if the decision to end his employment was made by him.

Corneil has been the face of Interior Health during the province’s overdose crisis.

Dr. Sue Pollock will take over as CMHO on an interim basis until a successor to Corneil is chosen.
