Freezing temperatures ‘not seen in years’ expected for North and South Thompson

KAMLOOPS — According to Environment Canada, temperatures within the North and South Thompson will plummet to ‘values not seen in years’ this weekend.

A special weather statement has been issued for the Thompson, alongside the Fraser Canyon, and Cariboo regions, with bitterly cold air coming through.

The arctic airmass heading south will bring wind chill values between minus 30, and minus 40 through the central Interior by Sunday morning, and down to minus 30 in the Columbias and southwest Interior by Monday morning.
