MILEY CYRUS SETTLES LAWSUIT CLAIMING SHE STOLE ‘WE CAN’T STOP’: Miley Cyrus has settled a lawsuit claiming she stole her 2013 hit song “We Can’t Stop.” Michael May, who performs as Flourgon, brought the suit last year, which claimed that Miley had stolen certain lyrics from his song, “We Run Things,” which was a big hit in the 1980s. One particular phrase that was very similar was “We run things. Things no run we,” which she sang as “We run things. Things don’t run we” in “We Can’t Stop.” In new documents, all parties have agreed that “this action shall be discontinued with prejudice…with each party to bear its or his own costs and attorneys’ fees.” “With prejudice” bars the plaintiff from bringing an action on the same claim. Miley’s “We Can’t Stop,” from her’ album Bangerz, hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2013.
