Valleyview Secondary placed on hold-and-secure while police search neighbourhood for suspicious person

KAMLOOPS — RCMP say they are in the Valleyview area searching for a suspicious person.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says out of an abundance of caution, Valleyview Secondary has been placed on a hold and secure.

“We received a report of a suspicious person in the area so there’s officers on scene right now seeing if they can find who this suspicious person is,” Shelkie says. “As of this time we haven’t found anybody that matches the description.”

Shelkie adds that the hold and secure means students are asked to stay inside while continuing on with classes.
