Coutinho scores hat trick, Davies starts as Bayern Munich thumps Bremen 6-1
BERLIN — Philippe Coutinho scored a hat trick and set up two more goals as Bayern Munich came from behind to rout Werder Bremen 6-1 and end a two-game losing run in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Robert Lewandowski scored two and substitute Thomas Müller grabbed the other as Bayern bounced back from successive 2-1 defeats to Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen.
Canadian Alphonso Davies started at fullback for Bayern before a sellout crowd of 75,000 at the Allianz Arena.
Bremen’s visit came just at the right time for the seven-time defending champion. Bremen had lost its previous 20 competitive games against Bayern, 17 in the league and three in the German Cup.
