Blazers blow big lead in loss in Moose Jaw

KAMLOOPS —- The Kamloops Blazers are having trouble holding leads on their Eastern Conference road trip.

Last night in Moose Jaw the Blazers built up a 4-0 led by midway through the second period, before losing 5-4 in overtime to the Warriors.

Josh Pillar with two, Sean Strange and Ryan Hughes scored for Kamloops to take what looked like a commanding lead.

Shortly after Pillar’s second goal at 8:11 of the 2nd period to make it 4-0, the Warriors struck for three goals in two and a half minutes.

Brayden Tracey tied it for Moose Jaw with a power play goal at 12:58 of the third.

Tracey then scored his second of the game, again on a power play, 19 seconds into overtime to give the Warriors the win.

Rayce Ramsay played the entire game for the Blazers, stopping 22 of 27 shots.

Adam Evanoff was good on 48 of 52 for Moose Jaw.

This was the third straight game in which the Blazers have had a lead of two goals or more, only to be forced to overtime.

Then won in a shootout in Brandon and have overtime losses in Winnipeg and Moose Jaw.

The road trip continues tonight in Regina.
