Clinton man who was acquitted in 2014 homicide now charged with first-degree murder

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to a homicide in Williams Lake last year — and just months before, he was acquitted of manslaughter in a different case.

North District RCMP say in a news release that Wyatt Lee Boffa, 29, has been charged in connection to the 2018 death of Jamie Sellars Baldwin, 43.

On Dec. 11, police in Williams Lake responded to a home on Mountain House Road, where they found a dead man. The man’s death was considered suspicious at the time.

Today (Dec. 6), police arrested Boffa and he remains in custody.

In May 2018, Boffa was acquitted of manslaughter in the death of 61-year-old James Painter, who was found dead in the Pine Ridge Mobile Home Park in Clinton on Sept. 11, 2014.
