Celebrity Buzz with Daisy Riddley and Caitlyn Jenner
DAISY RIDDLEY OPENS UP ABOUT MISSING CARRIE FISHER: Daisy Ridley, 27, stars opposite the late Carrie Fisher in The Rise of Skywalker. While Fisher, who died in 2016 at age 60, was not able to film in person, director J.J. Abrams brought her character to life via old footage. “It was definitely difficult,” Ridley told British GQ in the magazine’s January/February cover story of filming scenes involving Fisher. “It was emotional doing it, because you’re also weirdly picturing her. You’re not picturing how the scene is going to be.” She added: “And it’s going to be really sad. But also, it’s amazing that they have all this footage that is woven into the story in such a strange way.” Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is in theaters Dec. 20.
CAITLYN JENNER ONCE BANNED KARDASHIANS FROM TALKING O.J.: Caitlyn Jenner discussed her experience as Kris Jenner‘s longtime partner in the wake of the O.J. Simpson case on I’m a Celebrity. Kris’s ex Robert Kardashian Sr. helped defend Simpson, who was acquitted of murdering family friend Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1995. On the show, Caitlyn said: “It was a bad time for everyone, very difficult. We knew what happened and that the trial was a joke and when the verdict came, Kris just turns around to me and goes, ‘We should’ve listened to Nicole from the very beginning. She was right.'” But Caitlyn couldn’t hear constant micro-updates. She explained: “That night the verdict came in, Kourtney and Kimberly were in school and obviously they loved their father – and they should – and they’d been following this for a year and a half. And when they walked in the door, I think it was Kourtney who said, ‘Well I told you he didn’t do it.’ And I just said to the girls: ‘I don’t want his name ever mentioned in this house again.’”
BOBBY CANNAVALE MAKES HALF WHAT ROSE BYRNE DOES: Rose Byrne makes twice what Bobby Cannavale does, he tells Vanity Fair. He said: “I make half as much as she does. Down the middle. Half. I work too much in the theater, perhaps.” The pair have been together since 2012 and share two sons.
TOM HOLLAND RECALLS DRUNKEN PHONE CALL TO SAVE SPIDER-MAN: Tom Holland saved Spider-Man! The 23-year-old Avengers star shared his battle to get Sony and Marvel to keep Spidey in the MCU on Jimmy Kimmel Live!: “I’m three pints in, I haven’t eaten much, and I get a phone call from an unknown number. And I have a feeling. I’m like, ‘I think this is Bob Iger. But I’m drunk,’” he recalled. “We had a really good plan with what we were going to do with Sony. The future of Spider-Man was still very bright, but it would have been a shame to take him out of the MCU,” he said. “It’s where he belongs.”
