KAMLOOPS — A semi-truck driver has been taken to hospital after his rig went out of control and rolled last night on the Trans Canada Highway near Chase.
The semi was apparently carrying empty cargo according to reports from the scene. Power lines were knocked down and the highway had to be closed for a time.
Kamloops Fire and Rescue were initially called because the driver had been reported trapped, but they returned home when the driver was reported out of the vehicle. He was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.
No cause reported yet, but Drive B.C. reports black ice in the area overnight, so that may have been a factor.
