Prince William is traveling abroad to Kuwait and Oman, but his wife Kate Middleton took on duties for both of them alongside her grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth Tuesday night. The future and current queens hosted leaders from around the world at Buckingham Palace at a reception that marked 70 years of NATO.

The mother of three wore a bright green ensemble, and observers tell People that she sparkled in her new role, and is enjoying her increasingly important role at the palace.

“She is finding her voice,” says a well-placed palace source.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were also there to greet and host leaders, which included President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

Notably absent from the festivities is Prince Andrew, 59, who has been relieved of his official royal duties amid allegations of sexual misconduct. Also missing were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are taking a six-week break from the spotlight amid rumored tensions with William and Kate and intense media scrutiny.
