KAMLOOPS — Search and rescue crews in Kamloops are now helping the RCMP in the search for a missing man.

Kamloops Search and Rescue says it is aiding in the search for Richard Jules, who was last seen the afternoon of Nov. 23 at his home.

KSAR says in a tweet that 14 members including ground crews and two K9 teams searched until just before 9:00 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 28).

Search Manager Alan Hobler says mutual aid teams are joining KSAR today in the search, along with the drone team.

“It was quite cold. We’re back out here again today. We’ve expanded out call outs and brought teams in from across the region, as well as we’re bringing in our drone team, and we have another K9 dog out working today as well too.”

Working with police, and the search effort organized by Tk’emlups members, Hobler says about 17 Search and Rescue members will be combing through the Mount Paul Industrial Park area today.

“There’s a lot of community support. There’s a lot of community members out searching too,” he says, “Lots are dropping by command here giving us advice, telling us stories about this individual, so it’s providing some insight into him too.”

Jules is Aboriginal, 48 years old, 5’5″ tall, 95 lbs., with short straight brown hair. He was possibly wearing a red and white winter jacket and work boots, and may have a mustache.

If you know the whereabouts of Richard Jules, or have seen him in the past few days, please contact the Tk’emlups Rural RCMP at (250) 314-1800 or the Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000.
