SICAMOUS, B.C. — Sicamous RCMP are investigating a pair of thefts after two high-end boats were stolen over the weekend.

On Friday (Nov. 22), police were called to a report of a stolen black and white 2014 Campion 20-foot ski boat with an attached tower. It was taken from a locked underground parking facility on Riverside Drive.

The boat’s licence number is BC4100966.

On Saturday, police received a report of another boat stolen from the same facility — this one a blue and white 2005 Malibu 21-foot ski boat with an attached tower. The vessel licence is 2H85540.

“In both cases the person or persons responsible for the thefts entered the secure parking garage by entering the security code to open the overhead garage doors,” says Sgt. Murray McNeil of the Sicamous RCMP. “An image taken from video surveillance seized by our investigators, captured on Friday November 22, shows the stolen Campion vessel being towed away by a dark-coloured SUV southbound along Highway 97A, in the Mara area. The vehicle was displaying a stolen license plate.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call Sicamous RCMP at (250) 836-2878 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
