UPDATE: Missing Southern Interior woman located deceased

MERRITT, B.C. — UPDATE: An update from the family states Katrina Jensen has been located deceased.

In a social media post, Jensen’s mother says the family never lost hope. and they thank search and rescue, RCMP from several detachments, and the public for their help in trying to find her.

“It is with much feeling of loss that I tell you Katrina is no longer living on Earth. I believe she was trying hard to gain spiritual strength from a special place she knew. I am very, very thankful for all of you in helping to find Katrina.”

ORIGINAL: Family and friends are desperately searching for a Merritt-area woman missing since Tuesday (Nov. 19).

According to social media posts from family members, 33-year-old Katrina Jensen has not been seen since she left a home on the Salmon River Indian Reserve #1 on Tuesday.

Her car, a gold 2002 Chrysler Neon with a blue driver door, was found Thursday near Glimpse Lake north of Douglas Lake.

She is described as 6′ tall, about 160-170 pounds with Auburn-coloured hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who knows anything about the whereabouts of Katrina Jensen is asked to contact their local RCMP detachment.
