One injured in semi rollover north of Barriere

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: One person has been injured after a semi rollover north of Barriere.

According to B.C. Emergency Health Services, ambulance paramedics were called to a semi rollover along the Yellowhead Highway at about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 20).

One patient was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Drive B.C. notes the highway is back open in both directions.

There is no word what caused the crash.

EARLIER: Travel along Highway 5, north of Barriere has been blocked following a vehicle incident.

DriveBC is reporting the highway is closed near the intersection with Boulder Mountain road, about 12 kilometres north of Barriere.

It’s not clear when the road will be opened. No details on the collision have been released. More information is expected to be released later this morning (November 20).
