Ramsay shuts the door on P.G. for the Blazers fifth straight win

Nov 15, 2019 | 10:38 PM

KAMLOOPS — 16-year old Matthew Seminoff scored the only goal and Rayce Ramsay made 23 saves for his second shutout of the season in the Blazers 1-0 win over the Prince George Cougars.

The highlight of the first period was penalty shot, with Ramsay making the stop on Ethan Browne.

On shots of 31-13 through the first two periods, it was still scoreless.

Then 38 seconds into the third period Seminoff carried in deep to the corner, and from the goal line shot it towards the net.

Somehow it got past Gauthier for Seminoff’s second goal in as many games, his second career goal, and this one the game-winner.

Ramsay did the rest as the Blazers blank the Cougars 1-0.

At 14-and-6 Kamloops is in first place by six points over the Vancouver Giants.

The Blazers play in Kelowna Saturday night.

With Victoria’s win over Lethbridge Friday night, the Rockets have fallen into fourth place in the B.C. Division.
