Fire crews attend hog pile fire at Domtar
KAMLOOPS — Domtar crews will spend the better part of Thursday (Nov. 14) ensuring a hog pile fire is out.
Kamloops Fire Rescue crews were called to a lot adjacent to Domtar on Mission Flats Road at about 4:30 a.m.
“It was just a little bit of smoldering fire within their yard waste pile,” said Platoon Capt. Wade Lindoff. “We just spent a few hours down there, dropping loads of water and foam on it while they had a piece of equipment on scene just stirring it up for us.”
Because of the size of the waste piles, it can be a tedious process turning over the piles to ensure there is no more smoldering material.
