Snow pushes paving on West Victoria Street to Thursday

KAMLOOPS — Plans to begin paving on the West Victoria Street project have been pushed back slightly due to today’s (Nov. 12) snowfall.

The City had planned to begin concrete work today and start paving Wednesday.

With the wet weather, paving has been pushed to Thursday.

On that day motorists will be encouraged to avoid the area unless they are planning to visit one of the businesses along that corridor.

“We’re actually going to have closures, not of West Victoria Street itself, but any traffic going downtown using the Summit connector there,” said Capital Projects Manager Darren Crundwell, “that road will be closed to allow us to get the paving done on this last stage, so we’re getting more information out on that. Please, (we’re) asking the public to avoid it if they don’t have to be down there.”
